Archduke Franz Ferdinand

Franz Ferdinand, eldest son of archduke Charles Louis (brother of emperor Franz Joseph), was heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary. He was born 18th December 1863 whose assassination on 28th June 1914 resulted in the precipitation of World War 1. He and his wife were shot by Gavrilo Princip, a member of a Serbian terrorist group known as the 'Black Hand'.
